Leonor Falcon is a dynamic and versatile violinist and violist whose musical journey has spanned continents and genres. With over a decade of experience honing her craft in the vibrant music scene of New York City, Leonor has established herself as a sought-after performer and collaborator in jazz, avant-garde, Latin, and classical music.
During her time in New York City, Leonor immersed herself in a rich tapestry of musical experiences, performing with esteemed ensembles such as Willie Colon’s band, Akua Dixon’s Quartette Indigo, and the Arturo O’Farrill Latin Jazz Orchestra, among many others. Her collaborations extended across diverse projects, including engagements with the Sirius Quartet, Camila Meza and the Nectar Orchestra, and the Karl Berger Improvisers Orchestra, showcasing her versatility and adaptability across genres.
In 2017, Leonor boldly decided to relocate to Barcelona, Spain, where she continues expanding her musical horizons through collaborations with European artists such as Oriol Roca and Elia Bastida. She has also lent her talents to acclaimed groups like the Sant Andreu Jazz Band and the Camerata XXI, further enriching her musical palette with new influences and perspectives.
Leonor is a prolific recording artist, with several notable projects under her belt. Her improvising strings duo, Peach and Tomato, alongside violinist Sana Nagano, garnered attention with their debut album "The Ultimate Pairing" in 2019, followed by another release in 2023. Additionally, Leonor has showcased her solo artistry with the release of "Imaga Mondo" in 2017 and its sequel, "Imaga Mondo Vol. II," in 2022, all available on her label, FalconGumba Records.
Beyond her accomplishments as a performer and recording artist, Leonor is deeply committed to music education. For over 12 years, she taught students of all ages in New York City, specializing in the O’Connor Method and serving as part of the faculty at their summer camp. Currently, she shares her expertise as a jazz violin professor at Taller de Músics in Barcelona, inspiring the next generation of musicians with her passion and dedication.
In addition to her teaching endeavors, Leonor is a passionate advocate for musical dialogue and exchange. She launched the Falcon Music Talks podcast, interviewing fellow musicians from the New York City area, and offering insights into their creative processes and experiences.
